Philip Blanch, 78, in court over 1970s rape allegations

A 78-year-old man from Suffolk has appeared in court charged with five rapes and 10 indecent assaults in the 1970s.

Philip Blanch, of Belaugh Avenue, Lowestoft, who appeared before Guildford Magistrates' Court, was also charged with six counts of gross indecency.

Mr Blanch was committed for trial to Guildford Crown Court on 17 January.

He was released on conditional bail. No plea was entered.
