Colton Bridgeman jailed for Ipswich muggings

Colton Bridgeman Bridgeman asked for seven other offences to be taken in to consideration

A teenager has been jailed for robbing an 89-year-old man in Ipswich.

Colton Bridgeman, 19, of Weavers Court, Harwich, was detained for five years in a young offenders institute after admitting the robbery.

It was the second time in three days the pensioner, who was using a walking frame, had been mugged in the street.

Bridgeman also admitted a second robbery of a 78-year-old woman and asked for seven other offences to be taken in to consideration.

Det Insp Eamonn Bridger, from Ipswich CID, said: "These are particularly despicable crimes as the victims are such vulnerable members of the public."
