Man charged over Southwold antiques shop raid

A man has been charged with burglary after a raid on a Suffolk antiques shop in which about £100,000 of jewellery was stolen.

The Southwold Antiques Centre on the High Street was broken into on the evening of 5 November.

Martin Pearce, 24, of Melford Way in Felixstowe, will appear before magistrates later.

A woman, 29, also from Felixstowe, arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods was released on bail.

Hundreds of items are believed to have been taken from a single dealer within the centre during the raid, police said.
