Ipswich serious assault victim critically ill

A 52-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering a head injury in a serious assault in Ipswich.

Police were called to a report of a man injured in Civic Drive, Ipswich, at about 18:30 BST.

The man, who is from the town, was taken by ambulance to Ipswich Hospital.

The area has been cordoned off. A woman, aged 47 and from Ipswich, was arrested at the scene.

She has been taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Anyone who has any information in relation to this assault is asked to call Suffolk Police.
