The 67-year-old man sustained a serious head injury after falling from the bus in Defoe Road on 13 December.

Derek Thomson, of Riverside Road, Ipswich, had pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm without intent.

He was found guilty by a jury at Ipswich Crown Court earlier and bailed pending a pre-sentencing report.

Following the incident, the victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

He needed further treatment at a rehabilitation centre before returning home, police said.
