A toddler, who died after being hit by a van in a field being used by travellers in Ipswich, has been named by police.

Ryan Ward, who was 20-months-old, was injured on 23 July in an accident on the land at Lovetofts Drive.

He was taken in the van he had been hit by to Landmark House police station where he died.

A post-mortem examination showed he died from head injuries and an inquest into his death is to open on Tuesday.

Up to 40 caravans, which had been based at the field since 18 July, have since left the site.
