Man arrested in Bury St Edmunds after firearms and explosives found

A 75-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing firearms and explosives after a raid on a property in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.

Police said they executed a warrant to search premises in Olle Close at 18:10 BST.

During a search of the property a number of firearms were found and the Army Bomb Disposal Squad was called in.

The man was arrested and is currently being held at Bury St Edmunds police station.

The bomb disposal squad and police remain at the building which is being searched.
