A car has crashed into a carpet shop in Mildenhall, in Suffolk, narrowly missing shop workers and a passerby.

The orange Skoda Octavia hit Mildenhall Carpet and Flooring at about 08:45 BST.

Tony Nocito, who works in the shop, said he and two colleagues were loading a van when the car hit the wall.

"It just missed hitting three of us and went straight into the side of the shop," he said. "It missed one lady by a few inches."

Suffolk Police said the driver, who is believed to be a woman in her 50s, did not require any medical treatment.

Nobody else was injured in the crash.

Mr Nocito added: "I saw it in slow motion. Luckily no one was hurt - shaken up, but not hurt."

He said a structural engineer was assessing the damage to the shop on the High Street, but said it "won't be open for a while".
