Designs for an £8m redevelopment of a derelict Suffolk boatyard have been submitted to planners.

Developer FW Properties wants to create restaurants and a museum at Whisstocks and Nunn's Mill in Woodbridge.

A planning application for the sites, which have been vacant for more than 20 years, has been submitted to Suffolk Coastal District Council.

Julian Wells, a director at FW Properties, said the proposals were "highly distinctive".

Work could begin by the end of the year and be completed by spring 2015 if approved by the council.
