Ipswich knifepoint kidnap victim treated for burns injuries

A man in his 50s is being treated for burns after he was injured during a knifepoint kidnap, Suffolk Police said.

The man was sitting in his silver Mercedes in Bell Close, Ipswich, at about 15:15 GMT on Monday when two men got into the car and threatened him.

He was forced into the rear of the car and driven to a house in the town, where he was blindfolded and forced to hand over money.

Police say they are looking for three black men and two white women.

The man was later allowed to leave the house, but police said he did not recognise the area.

He returned to find his home in Cemetery Road, Ipswich, had been burgled.

Police say the man is currently being treated in hospital for burns, which are said to be non life-threatening and received while in the unknown house.
