Gang used girl as sex slave in Ipswich, court hears

Four men targeted a 13-year-old girl and used her as a "sex slave" at a house in Ipswich, a court has heard.

The four, who are from London and Ipswich, deny a range of sex and trafficking charges at their trial at Norwich Crown Court.

Outlining its case, the prosecution said the girl had been enticed from her home in London using drink and drugs.

It is alleged she spent four days in Ipswich last year where she was repeatedly raped.

Riel Karmy-Jones, prosecuting counsel, told the jury: "She was an unhappy and deeply troubled child. These men deliberately targeted her."

The court heard she was plied with drink and drugs and told she would be taken care of and would be given anything she wanted.

'Treated as skivvy'

Ms Karmy-Jones said: "They enticed her to travel with them in order to set her up as a sex slave and to use her for their pleasure.

"Once at the property in Ipswich, she was treated as little more than a skivvy and she was raped over the course of four days."

The attacks are alleged to have taken place in July 2012 at a house on Chevallier Street, Ipswich, which the prosecution said had been rented three days before the girl disappeared.

The four men charged are Abdul Hammed, 46 of Wellington Street, Ipswich; Surin Uddin, 28, of St Matthew's Row, Bethnal Green, east London; Hamza Ali, 38, of Chingford Road, Waltham Forest; north-east London; and Mohamed Sheikh, 31, of Seaton Point, Hackney, east London.

All deny conspiracy to traffick within the UK for sexual exploitation, conspiracy to rape, conspiracy to engage a child in sexual activity and supplying a controlled drug to the girl.

Mr Uddin, Mr Sheikh and Mr Hammed each deny two counts of rape.

Mr Sheikh also denies causing a child to engage in sexual activity and Mr Ali denies one charge of rape and one of sexual assault.

The trial continues.
