Police investigate series of laptop thefts from schools

Police are investigating whether a series of computer thefts from schools in Suffolk are linked.

Sixteen Dell laptops, valued at £8,000, were taken from Risby CEVCP on Saturday evening when thieves forced entry to the school on Aylmer Close, Risby.

During the Christmas holidays, 15 laptops were stolen from Rougham CEVC Primary School near Bury St Edmunds.

Suffolk Police says it is investigating "a handful" of computer thefts from schools over the past couple of months.

A spokesman said officers were working closely with schools to advise them on how to keep the computers safe.
