A man armed with a handgun attempted to rob an off-licence in Lowestoft.

The man entered Lawson Road Off-Licence, throwing a black bag at a shop worker and demanding money.

When she told him there was no money at the premises, he became agitated and pushed a scratchcard stand off the counter before running out of the shop down Lawson Road towards Clifton Road.

The man had piercing blue eyes and was wearing a dark grey jacket with the hood up and a full-face balaclava.

He was also wearing black gloves, black jogging bottoms and white trainers.

The attempted raid happened at about 21:00 GMT on Saturday.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact Det Con Denise Davey at Lowestoft CID.
