Suffolk solar power scheme unveiled

A £25m scheme to build a solar power park on a 95 acre site in Suffolk, which could provide power for 6,000 homes, has been unveiled.

Hive Energy has put forward the plans to erect solar panels on land between Tattingstone to Holbrook close to the Alton Reservoir.

Giles Redpath, of Hive Energy, said the site would produce 20 MW.

"Compared with other forms of renewable energy (such as wind farms) it has a much lower impact," he said.

The plans have been submitted to Babergh District Council and will be looked at at a later date.
