One person dies as light aircraft crashes at Aldham near Hadleigh
Police said the aircraft caught fire as it crashed
A person has been found dead at the scene of a light aircraft crash in a Suffolk village.
Suffolk Police said a member of the public called at about 11:20 GMT, saying the aircraft had come down in the village of Aldham, near Hadleigh.
The aircraft is believed to have hit power lines and a tree before becoming submerged in a pond.
Police said the aircraft caught fire on its way down. They said it was not known if anyone else was on board.
Air accident investigators are to examine the scene.
An area around the crash site has been cordoned off.
