Jurors have retired to consider their verdicts in the trial of two people charged over a raid in which a Suffolk jeweller was stabbed to death.

Ipswich Crown Court has heard Peter Avis, 66, was killed in the flat above his Bury St Edmunds shop in January.

Pawel Borowiecki, 31, of Roslyn Road, London, and Aleksandra Karpiuk, 27, of Lake Avenue, Bury St Edmunds, deny conspiracy to burgle.

Another man, Pyotr Melaniuk, has already admitted murder and burglary.

The jury is considering a second verdict on Ms Karpiuk, who denies a charge of assisting an offender.

The trial continues.
