Jeweller's murder: Man admits Bury St Edmunds killing

A man has pleaded guilty to murdering a jeweller in a flat above a shop in Bury St Edmunds.
Peter Avis, 66, was found dead with stab wounds in his flat over Collis & Son, Abbeygate Street in January.
Pyotr Melaniuk, 28, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court after being extradited from Poland and admitted killing Mr Avis.
He also pleaded guilty to burglary and will be sentenced at a later date. He pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary.
Melaniuk, who is also known by the first name Ireneusz, was remanded in custody.
Four other people are due to stand trial in the same case.
Kamil Kita, 21, of no fixed abode, has pleaded not guilty to murder and conspiracy to commit burglary.
Aleksandra Karpiuk, 27, and Pawel Pacian, 34, both of Lake Avenue in Bury St Edmunds, have denied conspiracy to commit burglary.
Pawel Borowiecki, 31, of Roslyn Road, London has also pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit burglary.
