Woodbridge buskers could be regulated following complaints

Buskers in a Suffolk town could be regulated after complaints were made about the quality of performers.

Woodbridge town centre manager Neil Boast said shop workers had become tired of hearing "badly" played renditions from performers with a "limited repertoire".

"We have some fantastic buskers but we also have some bad ones," he said.

Mr Boast said the idea for a code of conduct had received "overwhelming" support from local businesses.

He said rules which would limit the amount of time buskers could perform at one location would make it more bearable for people working nearby.

"There are two trumpet players - one is good and one is bad," said Mr Boast.

"Why one is bad is because he plays five bars and then stops. And he plays the same five bars and stops, over and over again - the poor people in the shops.

"In Bath and other areas they have a code of conduct.

"You can play for 45 minutes and then you leave the pitch and move to another one - you're not allowed to return to a pitch for two hours."
