A medieval church in Suffolk has been awarded a £714,500 grant to help fund a restoration project.

The grade II listed St Mary's church is in the grounds of Ickworth House near Bury St Edmunds.

The Heritage Lottery Fund money will help pay for the conservation of wall paintings, stained glass windows, a harmonium and the church clock.

Access to visitors will also be improved under the project, which should be completed by next summer.

English Heritage has contributed £224,600 towards the £972,400 restoration.
