Man falls off Ipswich's Stoke Bridge after fight

A man is in hospital with head injuries suffered when plunging off a river bridge in Ipswich.
Police were called at about 04:00 BST to reports of "an altercation" between a man and a woman in Cardinal Park.
They found a man had fallen from nearby Stoke Bridge while the River Orwell was at low tide. He had landed on hard surfaces and was lifted using a stretcher basket.
A man aged 24 was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
Fire crews used ladders to help paramedics get to the river bed.
The victim was taken to Ipswich Hospital where his injuries are described as serious, but not life-threatening.
