Former special constable guilty of rape and underage sex

A former Suffolk special constable has been found guilty of three sex offences involving underage girls.

Andrew Barber, 26, of Netley Close, Ipswich, denied one charge of raping a 15-year-old and two charges of having sex with a girl who was under 16.

Barber was suspended by Suffolk Police after his arrest and later resigned.

The jury at Norwich Crown Court found him guilty of all three charges. He has been remanded in custody while a date is fixed for sentencing.
