A former Staffordshire music hall has been turned into a centre helping people with dementia using £50,000 of lottery money.

The Sutherland Community Project in Stoke-on-Trent said it aimed to give people with dementia the chance to interact with younger volunteers.

The centre will stage musical events and provide traditional board games.

John Geary, from the project, said they hoped to help "not just people with dementia, but also their carers".
