A man has been found guilty of murdering a 44-year-old man at his Staffordshire home.

Steven Yeomans, 44, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, and Andrew Scott, 29, were drinking with Anthony Hughes and others at Yeoman's home in December.

Police believe an argument broke out and weapons including a golf club were used on Mr Hughes.

Yeomans denied murder but was convicted at Stafford Crown Court on Friday. Scott admitted murder in April.

Post-mortem tests showed Mr Hughes died from substantial head and facial injuries on 28 December last year.

Scott, of no fixed address, and Yeomans, of Wilmot Drive, will be sentenced on 5 September.

The judge told the jury it had been a "harrowing case".
