Man arrested after Stoke-on-Trent firearms incident

A man has been arrested after three people were hit by what are thought to be air rifle pellets in Stoke-on-Trent.

Police said the attacks happened in the area around Campbell Place at about 01:00 BST.

Armed police were sent to the scene, along with dog teams, while an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was used to search rooftops.

Staffordshire Police said a 27-year-old man from Stoke had been arrested and was being questioned by officers.

A number of roads in the area were closed, but have since reopened.

Police said incidents of this type were thankfully rare in Stoke and the victims' injuries were not thought to be serious.
