A man has been arrested over the killing 24 years ago of a taxi driver who was found in a remote farm track.

Steven Johnson, 25, was discovered by a dog walker a short distance from his taxi off Castle Road, Mow Cop, Staffordshire, on 22 December 1990.

A 49-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested and bailed.

Staffordshire Police said a number of residential properties in the city and the north of the county had been searched in connection with the arrest.

The 49-year-old man, who was arrested early on Monday, was released on police bail while "detectives continue to review any potential evidence", the force said.
