Man's body pulled from River Tame in Fazeley

A man's body has been recovered by police searching a river in Staffordshire.

A passer-by alerted officers in Fazeley, near Tamworth, shortly after 22:00 BST on Saturday after seeing a body in the River Tame.

The area was cordoned off while specialist water rescue teams recovered the body.

Staffordshire Police said they were trying to trace the man's family and were treating the death as unexplained.

A spokesperson said officers were attempting to establish the circumstances that led to the man's death.
