JCB 'disappointed' over lack of World Cup work

12 May 2014 Last updated at 21:59 BST

Staffordshire diggermaker JCB says it is disappointed business opportunities linked to infrastructure projects at the World Cup in Brazil have failed to materialise.

It comes as the company announces a 14% fall in annual profits.

JCB sold fewer machines overseas than expected in 2013 but UK sales were up 50%, meaning it's still been one of the most profitable years in its 68-year history.

Ben Godfrey spoke to Andy Earl at Ace Line Plant and Graeme MacDonald, the chief executive of JCB.
