Staffordshire police crash on way to emergency callout

A police officer was taken to hospital after a crash involving a marked police vehicle and another car.

The police car was responding to an emergency call when the accident happened on the Wolverhampton Road in Stafford at about 21:00 BST on Friday.

The 37-year-old Stafford man driving the other car was treated for minor injuries by ambulance staff.

The police officer was taken to hospital as a precaution and later discharged, Staffordshire Police said.
