Man arrested over fatal stabbing in Stone

A third man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 22-year-old man.

Connan McLeod died on Whitemill Lane in Stone, Staffordshire in the early hours of Saturday. A post-mortem examination confirmed he died from a stab wound.

Two men arrested on Saturday have since been released on police bail. A third man was arrested in Burton-on-Trent on Sunday, police said.

The latest arrest follows an appeal by officers to trace a 26-year-old man.

Det Supt Wayne Jones from Staffordshire Police said: "We have been working around the clock since the early hours of Saturday morning to investigate the tragic death of Connan.

"I want to thank the public for their support with the appeal for information about this investigation."
