A man has been sentenced for four years for stabbing a student outside a college in Staffordshire.

Callum Guy, 18, of North Street in Newcastle-under-Lyme attacked his male victim outside the town's college on Ashfields New Road in November.

The victim was left with a single puncture wound to his chest and spent two days in hospital, police said.

Guy admitted grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article at Stafford Crown Court.

He was sentenced to four years detention in a young offenders' institution.
