More than 100 jobs are set to be created at a food processing plant.

Wrights Pies employs about 480 staff at sites in Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent, manufacturing pies and desserts for high street shops and restaurants.

Peter Wright, from the firm, said a £5m investment in a new plant at its site in Crewe would create about 110 jobs by August.

He added that a redevelopment of the Stoke site was expected to begin towards the end of 2014.

Once completed, he said, the factory in Shelton would be turned over to sandwich production.
