His body was discovered at the junction with Wordsworth Avenue at 00:50 GMT on Wednesday.

Joseph Moscicki, 22, from Little Acres in Finchampstead, has been charged with murder and failing to submit to a breathalyser test.

In a statement, Mr Smith's family said they were finding coping with news of his death "extremely difficult".

They added: "Our uncle Jim was very independent and enjoyed regular visits to the Highfields Social Club where he met his friends on a daily basis."

Mr Moscicki remains in police custody and is due to appear before magistrates in Cannock on Saturday.
