Man killed in Stoke-on-Trent tree crash

A man died when a car he was travelling in hit a tree in Stoke-on-Trent.

It happened on Leek Road, in Kingsley Moor at about 20:30 GMT on Wednesday, outside Blakeley Farm.

Stephen Gould, 50, of Whiston Eaves Lane, Whiston, was treated by paramedics but was confirmed dead at the scene, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said crews arrived to find the car off the road and crashed into a tree.

Staffordshire Police urged witnesses to come forward.
