Drivers on the M6 in Staffordshire faced long delays when a bus caught fire.

The southbound carriageway was closed for about three hours between junctions 14 and 15.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said motorists reported the fire at about 09:45 BST and three crews were sent to the scene.

The service said the bus was completely gutted by the fire but there were no reported injuries.

All three lanes had reopened by 13:00 BST.

The Highways Agency advised motorists that the traffic delays could continue "until Friday evening".
