Stafford man killed when car collides with tree

A 39-year-old Stafford man was killed when his car collided with a tree on his way home.

His grey BMW 330 was found in Congreve Road, Congreve, on Wednesday morning, but police believe the crash may have taken place hours earlier.

PC Andy Hogan appealed for witnesses, saying: "He had called his family on his way home at 22:00 BST (Tuesday) to say he would be delayed.

"The vehicle was found at 04:50 BST by a passing motorist."
