Two hurt in car fire chemist crash on Elgin Street in Hanley

Two men were seriously injured when their car came off the road and caught fire.

The vehicle hit a lamppost, street signs and a chemist near the junction of Elgin Street and Stoke Road in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.

Paramedics managed to pull the two men out following the crash at about 05:30 BST.

The driver, in his 30s, had serious facial injuries and the passenger, in his 60s, suffered chest injuries.
