Jester pub death: Sixth arrest over Raymond Cannon murder

A sixth man has been arrested over the death of a man after a disturbance at a pub in Stoke-on-Trent.

Raymond Cannon, 52, died after collapsing at the Jester pub, Biddulph Road, early on Saturday. Police are treating his death as murder.

An 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder on Monday afternoon, Staffordshire Police said..

He has been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in August.

A post-mortem examination on Mr Cannon proved inconclusive. Police said further tests would now be carried out.

High-visibility police patrols have been stepped up in the area since the incident.

The other arrested men, one aged 18, two aged 20 and two aged 21, who are all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, have been released pending further inquiries.
