Post-mortem tests on a man who died after a disturbance at a Stoke-on-Trent pub have proved inconclusive.

Five men were arrested on suspicion of murdering Raymond Cannon, 52, who was found collapsed at the Jester Pub, Biddulph Road, early on Saturday.

Further medical tests are now expected to be carried out, Staffordshire Police said.

High-visibility police patrols have been stepped up in the area since the incident.

The arrested men, one aged 18, two aged 20 and two aged 21, who are all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, have been released pending further inquiries.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate Mr Cannon but he died at the scene.
