Two arrested at badger setts near Stone

Two men have been arrested following reports of suspicious activity at some badger setts in Staffordshire.

Police were called to the site, in woodland on the outskirts of Stone, on Sunday evening and seized a pick-up van which had been parked nearby.

A 46-year-old man from West Yorkshire and a 51-year-old man from Derbyshire were arrested.

Staffordshire Police said they were being held on suspicion of offences under the Protection of Badgers Act.
