Hanley house death from head injuries 'unexplained'

A post mortem examination carried out on a man whose body was found in a house in Stoke-on-Trent showed he died from head injuries, police have said.

Staffordshire Police said the death is being treated as "unexplained".

The man has been formally identified as Simon Hammond, who was 47.

He was found dead at his home in Matthews Walk, Hanley, at about 09:00 GMT on Friday. The scene will remain cordoned off while forensic examinations continue, police said.
