Hanley house death treated as 'suspicious'

The death of a man whose body was found in a house in Stoke-on-Trent is being treated as suspicious by police.

Staffordshire Police said the man was found dead at his home in Matthews Walk, Hanley, at about 09:00 GMT on Friday.

He has been formally identified as Simon Hammond, who was 47.

The scene will remain cordoned off while a detailed forensic examination takes place, a spokesperson added.
