Alton speeding work for theme park village
Work has started on £40,000 worth of speed bumps and other traffic-calming measures in the village next to the Alton Towers theme park.
Villagers in Alton complain that the thousands of visitors to the park cause traffic problems and want something done about the speed of many vehicles.
Residents' requests for a bypass were turned down in December 2008.
Staffordshire County Council is paying for the work, which is expected to last five weeks.
