Sixteen people have been arrested by police investigating drug dealing in Staffordshire.

The arrests, mainly in Burton-on-Trent, were part of Staffordshire Police's Operation Nemesis, targeting the supply of drugs such as heroin and cocaine.

The raids involved more than 250 officers on Wednesday morning.

Thirteen men, aged 15 to 49, and three women, aged 18, 26 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of supplying class A and class B drugs.

Police said scenes of crime officers and sniffer dogs were now searching the properties targeted.
