Flood warnings removed in Staffordshire

Two flood warnings on the River Sow in Staffordshire are no longer in force.

The warnings, in the Tixall area, were removed earlier, but one remains on the River Blithe from Blithfield Reservoir to Bancroft.

Fire crews from Hanley and Leek were called out to rescue a horse which was trapped in mud in the early hours.

The animal was stuck on Winterfield Lane in the Werrington area. Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was now in the RSPCA's care.
