Pedestrian killed in Leek collision

A 49-year-old woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in Staffordshire.

Officers on patrol found the woman at the junction of Cruso Street and Broad Street at about 13:30 BST on Friday.

She had suffered multiple injuries and ambulance staff administered "advanced life support at the scene", a service spokeswoman said.

"Sadly despite their best efforts, nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead," she added.

Anyone with details about the incident has been urged to contact Staffordshire Police.
