Cheslyn Hay boy killed in collision named

A seven-year-old boy who died when he was struck by a van in Staffordshire has been named by police.

Mitchell Harvey Clifton, who was believed to have been riding a scooter, was hit by a Mercedes Sprinter security van in Cheslyn Hay on Wednesday.

The incident happened at the entrance to the Co-op car park in Landywood Lane at about 17:45 BST.

Mitchell, of High Street, Cheslyn Hay, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
