Staffordshire men arrested after explosions

Dandillion Avenue, Cheadle Police were called to Dandillion Avenue in Cheadle at about 22:00 BST on Friday

A second man has been arrested by police investigating three explosions across Staffordshire.

Police were called on Friday to homes in Blythe Bridge, Cheadle and Weston Coyney after reports of explosions.

A 40-year-old man from Bagnall has been held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Another man, 44, from Cheadle was earlier arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police said nobody was injured and the three homes sustained "minimal damage".

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Shortly before 10pm last night, police were called to a house in Peters Lane, Blythe Bridge.

"A short time later another report was received at a house in Dandillion Avenue in Cheadle and just after 10.15pm a further report was received from a house in Axon Crescent, Weston Coyney."

They said the attacks were believed to have been targeted, following a disagreement, and there was no threat to public safety.
