Tamworth roadworks scheduled to improve safety

Plans have been announced to improve road safety in a Staffordshire town.

The scheme includes installing a pedestrian crossing and improving a footpath close to where a person was knocked down and killed, in 2009.

The work aims to relieve congestion and increase safety at Riverdrive and Fazeley Road in Tamworth.

Staffordshire County Council will carry out the project, which will take around four weeks, from Monday. A 20mph temporary speed limit will be in place.
