Simon Holdsworth murder: Sheffield man appears in court

A man accused of killing a Sheffield paint sprayer has appeared in court.

Shaun Wainwright, 45, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court charged with murdering 36-year-old Simon Holdsworth.

Mr Holdsworth's body was found in land off Birley Spa Lane, in Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, on 17 December. He died as a result of head injuries.

No plea was entered and Mr Wainwright, of Dagnam Road, Sheffield, was remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at the same court on 10 October.

Mr Holdsworth, who had been due to get married, was last seen getting on a bus after leaving work at about 23:00 GMT the previous day.

South Yorkshire Police appealed for information on the BBC's Crimewatch programme in March.
