An elderly woman has been rescued from a fire at a house in Barnsley after a wheelie bin was set alight in a suspected arson attack.
Emergency services were called to the property on York Street, Cudworth, at 03:45 BST on Thursday.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. She was released later that day.
Police said they were treating the blaze as arson and jointly investigating with the fire service.
Det Insp Gary Askew, of South Yorkshire Police, said: "The lady was very lucky. Our officers were in the area, spotted the flames and secured her safety.
"She is physically all right, but obviously a little shaken up."
